![]() ![]() The rest of the computer doesn't freeze, I can still do other stuff, but the "back" and "install" buttons just stop working, and no update seems to be taking place. I've waited for hours, restarted the computer, and every time I try, I get to this step and then it stops doing anything. I can click the "back" option and that works properly, but when I click "install," the buttons just go grey and nothing happens. I go through a couple screens, where I click the "begin" option, then the "accept" option (accepting the terms and conditions), then I get to a screen that says "macOS Catalina will be installed on the disk "Macintosh HD"." The options on this screen are "Back" and "Install". The second issue is what happens when I use Spotlight to open the "Install macOS Catalina" app. ![]() First off, when I open the OS Catalina update the app store, they both say that it is installed already, and the "installed" button is greyed out. Yet, I'm running into the same issue trying to upgrade both. The two computers are a MacBook Air from 2014 and a MacBook Pro from 2014, both running OS 10.9.5.Īccording to the system requirements that Mac lists online, they are both compatible with OS Catalina. Hey! So, I have two different MacBooks, neither of which has been upgraded in a long, long time. ![]()
